====== Unipi Extension ====== Unipi Extension is module for increasing the number of digital and/or analogue inputs and outputs of the control system, communicating by Modbus RTU protocol over RS-485 serial line. It is fully compatible with Unipi units and third party control systems with Modbus RTU support. **Note**: \\ Extension modules have a lot of functions, e.g: * counter on all DI * Direct Switch * Master Watchdog ===== Documentation overview ===== The following list is an overview of the online documentation for Unipi Extension products: ---- - Unipi Extension model overview - en:hw:04-extensions:safety-instructions - Installation and mounting - Operational safety - Maintenance and service - en:hw:04-extensions:01-first-steps - Connection - Module operation - en:hw:04-extensions:led-indication - en:hw:04-extensions:description-of-io - en:hw:04-extensions:description-of-io:01-description-of-di - en:hw:04-extensions:description-of-io:03-description-of-ro - Analog inputs - type 1 (xS51) - Analog inputs - type 2 (xS52, xS53, xS54) - en:hw:04-extensions:description-of-io:05-description-of-ao - en:hw:04-extensions:communication-and-addressing-of-module - SW configuration via Modbus RTU - HW configuration using DIP switches - en:hw:04-extensions:downloads - Datasheets - Modbus register maps - en:hw:04-extensions:technical-parameters - Connector description - Digital inputs - Relay outputs - Analog inputs (type 1) - Analog inputs (type 2) - Analog outputs - RS-485 interface - Storage, installation and operating conditions ===== Unipi Extension model overview ===== Extension xS modules are available in several variants, combining digital inputs, relay outputs and analog I/O. The RS-485 serial line is for communication with the control unit. ---- The models and their specifics are discussed below: ---- // * measurement ranges may vary between models // \\ // ** 1-Wire only for DS18b20 sensor measurements // ===== A cost-effective way to extend I/O ===== Extension modules are a simple way to increase the number of inputs and outputs of a control system. The different variants of the I/O extension xS modules ensure the right combination for every project. With xS modules, there is no need to expand the system with additional PLCs, resulting in cost savings, easier maintenance and system flexibility. Multiple extension modules can then be placed on a single bus to create a network with a high number of inputs and outputs controlled by a single PLC. ===== Remote I/O ===== Extension modules can also be used to provide inputs and outputs in a different location than the switchboard with the unit, e.g. in an separate room, different floor, etc. The extension module can be simply placed in the switchboard in a location, connected to the controlled devices and then connected to the control unit with a single data cable. This significantly reduces cabling and maintenance costs. Reduced cabling also helps prevent interference problems with analogue signals. ===== Fully compatible with 3rd parties ===== Thanks to the widely used RS-485 serial line and the Modbus RTU protocol, Unipi xS modules are fully compatible with all Unipi controllers and all devices that support this serial line and protocol. ===== Product branding ===== Product with your brand and colors from 20pcs order.
