Serial line access via extcomm is deprecated and is no longer available in our OS running Debian 13..

Alternatively, all serial ports mentioned below are also accessible via /dev/extcomm/Y/X, where Y is the number of section, and X is the number of the serial port. X and Y are counted from 0.

USB ports

USB converters (FTDI, CH34x, PLxxxx and CPxxxx) are also supported by default. For using other gateways or devices, installation of drivers is necessary.
