Mervis certification

Certification programme is intended for those interested in Unipi partnership programme. The certification is contingent upon completing a certification task in the form of a practical automation solution using the Unipi certification kit.

Experienced Mervis users do not have to undertake the certification test. If your company have already finished one or more Mervis projects, you can obtain the certification by sending us one of your completed projects.

Your task is to create a system for controlling heating and lighting in a single room. All required components are contained in the certification kit. Start with building the kit, using this connection scheme as a guide.

Room heating control consists of:

  • Controlling a heater using RE2 relay
  • Temperature measurement using the PT1000 resistance thermometer
  • Using a programmable week scheduler for setting the required temperature
  • An option to manually adjust the temperature by +-3°C using the potentiometer
  • Displaying a current and adjusted required temperature through a web HMI
  • Displaying a current heater status through a web HMI

Lighting control consists of:

  • Control of a single lighting circuit through a relay (RE1)
  • Physical lighting control using the red button
  • Lighting control using a web HMI

Recommended methods

  • Implement the hysteresis control (“On-Off Control - Heating (B31)” block)
  • Use “Real Scheduler (T18)” block for creating the timetable
  • Transform the potentiometer output value to 3-/+3 using a linear transformation
  • Connect the lighting control button to the relay using the Direct Switch Toggle function
  • For simultaneous control of the Direct Switch output, use the library provided
  • Encapsulate the whole solution into a single function block for better convenience

Assembly of the certification kit

  • Fasten DIN rail holders to both the Axon S105 controller and the xS11 extension module using the provided screws
  • Mount the controllers, terminals and relays to the DIN rail according to this scheme
  • Interconnect blue terminals with the 2-way jumper
  • Interconnect red and grey terminals with the 3-way jumper
  • Insert the resistance housing into the grey terminal
  • Connect all cables and conductors according to the scheme
  • Before connecting the power source, check the correct voltage polarity
