The production of Unipi Axon units was discontinued and no further software updates will be released. The Axon line was replaced by the Unipi Patron.
Analog outputs
Analog outputs are designed for control of external devices such as three-way valves or heat exchangers using 0-10 V⎓ analog voltage signal or 0-20 mA current signal.
Caution!
A short circuit or long-term overload of the analog output can cause permanent damage, which is manifested by a signal conversion error or a completely non-functional output.
Connection
External devices are connected to AGND and AORx or AORy.x terminals or to AGND and AOVx or AOVy.x terminals. The following image depicts connection of a device to analog output:
Description of modes
Section 1 analog output AOR (previously only AO) can generate voltage or current:
It is necessary to select the output mode first and then control the output by entering values in the control software.
The expected values are:
- Voltage → 0-10 (V⎓)
- Current → 0-20 (mA)
Resistance measuring on section 1 AOR (previously only AO):
This feature is useful for collecting data from resistance sensors such as PT1000 temperature sensor.
Analog outputs AOV in sections 2,3 and on S5xx units support only voltage output:
The output voltage is regulated by entering the required value into the control SW. Expected values are 0-4000, which linearly corresponds to values of 0-10 V⎓ at the output.
Special functions
Aside from the standard inputs and outputs, Axon controllers also feature additional functions for broadening the possible applications, performance optimization and monitoring of the entire project. These functions are calculated directly by the I/O section's microprocessors, making them independent on the control software.
Default configuration
This function is used to save the current configuration of the section (extension module) into its memory. In the of power cycle of the device or reboot of the section (extension module), the stored configuration is loaded and applied. This functionality is also known as “copy
running-config
to startup-config
”.
Stored data | Default configuration |
---|---|
Output mode | voltage output |
Output value | 0V |
Master Watchdog
This function runs on the section's (extension module's) microprocessor and continuously monitor the commands from the application running on the unit. If no commands are detected within a configured time (MWD Timeout), the module's processor automatically reboots and reverts to the default configuration described above. This function ensures a safe configuration is set in case of emergency situations (unit failure, communication error or software issues) to prevent damage to controlled devices or any hazards to personnel.
