Analog outputs are designed for control of external devices such as three-way valves or heat exchangers using 0-10V analog voltage signal or 0-20 mA current signal.

Connection

External devices are connected to AGND and AOx (or AOVx and AOVy.x) terminals. The following image depicts connection of a device to analog output:

Description of modes

Group 1 AOs can generate voltage or current:
It is necessary to select the output mode first and then control the output by entering values in the control software. The expected values are:

  • Voltage → 0-10 (V)
  • Current → 0-20 (mA)

Resistance measuring on group 1 AO: (with the exception of some controllers, eg. S5xx)
This feature is useful for collecting data from resistance sensors such as Pt1000 temperature sensor.

Analog outputs in groups 2,3 and on S5xx controllers support only voltage output:
The output voltage is regulated by entering the required value into the control SW. Expected values are 0-10 (V).
